OLJH Lady Jackets Basketball Team played this past weekend in the Middle School Holiday Showcase Tournament. They were undefeated and took first place! Two of the girls were selected for All Tournament Team, and C.L. was voted MVP!
Way to go Lady Jackets!
As part of Civics standards, students are required to complete a service project within their community. They’ve learned what community is and that there are different types of communities. They’ve also learned the importance of service within communities. We began discussing service projects in my classes and my students decided they wanted to donate to Wolfson Children’s Hospital to help ease the stress of being in the hospital. Together Mrs. Jacobs, Mr. Miller, and Mrs. Kidd's classes they were able to collect a lot for their project. There was even a student who took the project to people she knows outside of our school to get them involved in the donating.
We am so proud of our 7th graders at OLJH! They took time out of their lives to think about other children and do something that might just put a smile on someone else’s face. As you can see below our students really rocked this project. I wanted to take a moment to share this with you before we go out on break. Way to go 7th grade!
Happy Holidays from OLJH!
Congratulations to OLJH Jazz Band, who were invited to perform at Disney World this past weekend. It is quite an honor to be invited to play at Disney World, because they only select the best of the best. They were awarded with a Disney Performing Arts trophy.
